If you’ve come looking for folk, jazz, blues, swing, country, r&b, singer-songwriter, acoustic, Americana and all other kinds of music, you’ve come to the right place - just at the wrong time.
RocknRoots is taking a break.
Ann Sternberg and I launched the radio version of RocknRoots in 1998. Six years later, when Ann passed away, I moved the show to the Web. And since 2004 RocknRoots and I have been right here, pumping out thousands of tunes, interviewing dozens of interesting guests, serving the listeners who care about under-played emerging artists and rediscovered gems.
2008 will mark 10 years of music programming, and it’s time to reflect on what we’ve done and what lies ahead. So I am taking some time off to plan the next phase of music appreciation, done my way.
Speaking of appreciation: engineer Charles deMontebello, webmaster Lee Rubenstein (and lately Joshua Leung), and all of you who have listened and let me know what you thought - it has been rewarding and enlivening to share this trip with you.
So watch this space for news about the next chapter of RocknRoots. And when there’s news, I’ll try to get it out there in ways that reach all music-lovers who want more from their listening than wallpaper, more than canned playlists, more than same old same old.
Me, too.
Be well, see you later,
Tom Boyd
